Hylocereus megalanthus cacti, grown from Palora variety seed. H. megalanthus also known as yellow dragon fruit or yellow pitaya, is a vining cactus which produces very large yellow skinned, white fleshed dragon fruit or pitaya. The fruit of H. megalanthus are sought around the world as a super food for its pleasing texture, nutrition, large size and a sweet taste. Plants are self-fertile. Flowers are nocturnal, producing a scent reminiscent of vanilla and roasted peanuts.
We sell four sizes of plant. You will receive a plant similar to those pictured above. Plant sizes are selected by price (Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small). Most plants have multiple (3 to 7) branches. For ones with multiple branches, specifically, feel free to message us and we will gladly accommodate.

Plants may appear wrinkled upon arrival, this is normal, plants are just dehydrated due to shipping and will "plump up" in time. All plants are greenhouse grown and are pest free, however due to this plants must be eased into direct sunlight over several days, otherwise plants will sunburn. Use well draining soil. Plants cannot sit in water, but prefer regular watering once every 9 days. Plants are not cold hardy and must be brought indoors should temperature drop below 32°F (0°C). Between December and March plants ship insulated in packing paper and a mylar heat blanket to pretect against extremes.
